In a recent Overland Journal podcast Scott Brady and Matt Scott discussed Expedition Campers and spoke at length about the benefits of EarthCruisers. Highlights include a sturdy 3.0-liter diesel motor, excellent capability, and fabled Japanese build quality and reliability. Furthermore, despite being a half-a-million dollar vehicle they are decidedly understated when compared to Global Expedition Vehicles and EarthRoamer counterparts and are subsequently less likely to attrtact unwanted attention. Furthermore, the Fuso platform that underpins the EarthCruiser is used globally for transporting goods, which means that means replacement parts are available globally. As a result, it’s one of the few luxury overland vehicles that you will encounter in some of the harshest and less developed parts of the world, and not just at the various expos. Despite being prohibitively expensive for the average overlander they remain a popular choice for those that can afford them with recent examples on the forum including this 2018 EXP #44, a 2021 FX, and a 2019 FX #61. Today’s seller states that the cost of a new FX will set you back $595,000, which makes today’s pre-owned $265,000 2016 offering excellent value (this is one of the best value EarthCruisers we’ve ever featured). The rig has covered just 107,000 miles (low mileage for this motor) and features premium modifications and an exceptionally well-equipped camper.
