The Australian Hardkorr Camper is Innovative and Built for the Bush (or Beach)

Hardkorr Campers, a Queensland-based manufacturer, has been in the camping trailer industry since 2015 and has established a reputation for building affordable and compact camping trailers and larger caravans. Hardkorr Campers has recently launched the HKC Xplorer camper trailer, which boasts high levels of versatility and innovation. The top-of-the-range Xplorer camper trailer has a modular interior fit-out, a 270-degree awning, an intelligently-designed rooftop tent, and an exclusive easy-access integrated staircase that makes it quick and easy to set up and use. It is equally useful for work and play, making it a game-changer for anyone looking for a versatile camper trailer.

The modular interior of the Xplorer camper trailer has been designed with flexibility in mind, making it easy to convert the trailer to carry goods or equipment. The kitchen and pantry can be easily unbolted to create a cavernous internal storage area, perfect for tools or goods. For longer items like pipes, ladders, conduits, or fishing rods, the roof has inbuilt tie-down points to secure your load quickly and can support up to 350kg.

The Xplorer camper trailer features a full 150mm x 50mm x 3mm galvanized chassis, 265/75 R16 mud-terrain tires (including two full-sized spares), dual independent gas shocks, and heavy-duty parallel wheel bearings, making it suitable for handling rugged terrain with ease. Additionally, its lightweight aluminum body can be towed with any off-road-capable vehicle.

One of the standout features of the Xplorer camper trailer is the integrated staircase, which is the first of its kind in Australia. It makes accessing the rooftop tent much safer and less strenuous, as users no longer need to climb a ladder to enter and exit their tent. The Xplorer also boasts two sides of storage, each with two separate cargo hatches, that can be customized to suit how users want to use it.

The Xplorer camper trailer comes in three versions – the Base model, the Tradie version, and the Adventurer. The base model starts at AU$ 20,990 (US$13,990) and can be upgraded with various accessories, including a Weber Baby Q grill and solar charging hardware. The Tradie version, priced at AU$24,990 (US$16,600), comes with a 200-amp hour lithium battery and a 2,000-watt inverter to power tools and work gear. The fully-equipped Adventurer version is priced at AU$ 35,990 (approx. US$23,925). It includes a shower tent and gas water heater, dual 100-amp hour AGM batteries, a Bluetooth battery monitoring system, and a 270-degree awning with walls.

The Xplorer camper trailer may well be a game changer in the industry, and its affordable price point makes it an attractive option. There is no indication that these campers are yet to be available in the US, but at these prices, they may be available soon.
