Overland Classifieds :: 2003 Ford E-350 Quadvan 4×4 7.3-liter Diesel

The E-350, alongside the Sprinter 4×4, is the most popular van on our forum for expedition builds. We’ve recently featured several drool-worthy rigs, including this 2006 Super Duty with a Stahl service body, a 1999 Class C camper, and a 2006 Sportsmobile. The reality is that no rooftop tent can match a van’s four-season comfort and convenience. However, regarding rugged backcountry adventures, there are very few vans suitable for remote exploration. Sure, AWD models are available such as the Ford Transit, Toyota Hiace, Volkswagen Crafter, and Chevrolet Express, but even these options have limited technical ability. The E-350 is somewhat of an outlier as it enjoys access to a wide array of 4WD conversions from Quigly 4×4, Salem Kroger, Agile Offroad, Expo Vans, Quadvan, and more. These services transform the stock 2WD Ford into a truly capable machine with a heavy-duty 4WD system, locking differentials, high and low range, upgraded suspension with up to 6 inches of lift, Dana axles, locking hubs, and much more. These upgrades turn this comfortable rolling home into a go-anywhere expedition vehicle, as demonstrated by these inspiring builds from New Jersey Outdoor Adventures and the Driving Line. If you’d like a better idea of how the Ford behaves as a round-the-world travel companion, then check out the adventures of Daniela Wagner’s E-350 4×4 in Africa and Saudi Arabia. Today’s 2003 offering might be the nicest to date, showcasing the legendary “million-mile” 7.3-liter Power Stroke diesel motor (that’s covered just 90,500 miles), premium modifications, Penthouse pop-top, Quadvan 4×4 conversion, and a Sportsmobile camper interior.

From the Seller:

After months and months of searching for the perfect van for my wife and me, we found this beautiful 2-owner van purchased new and custom built for its original owner by Sportsmobile West in Fresno, California. We were after a 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel for its reliability and lower fuel consumption. The previous owner had the van outfitted by one of the best 4×4 conversion companies, Northwest Quadvan, which has been performing these conversions for years. We looked at other local companies, but none offered a conversion using 100% new factory Ford parts. We wanted a van that would last for years and could be serviced by any Ford dealership nationwide.”

2003 Ford E-350 Quadvan 4×4 7.3-liter Diesel

The E-350 is fitted with the 7.3-liter Power Stroke motor that, in stock form, produces 215 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque (some examples were uprated to 225 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque). This legendary diesel motor is prized for its longevity, with well-maintained examples frequently exceeding 1,000,000 miles. A bulletproof engine and drivetrain are matched with excellent go-anywhere capability thanks to a Quadvan 4×4 conversion. This system uprates the E-350 with 4WD, high and low range, manual locking hubs, Bilstein shock absorbers, and more. Inside driver comforts include:
