Overland Classifieds :: 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with Cummins 4BT

The Jeep Wrangler needs no introduction and is one of the most popular 4WDs on our forum. A few recent adventure-ready examples include a 2006 Rubicon Unlimited, 2016 Expedition Build, and 2017 Unlimited Sport. The Wrangler is one of the few 4WD vehicles that has remained true to its roots and has continued to be a utilitarian, go-anywhere adventure vehicle. Unfortunately, many of the Jeep’s contemporaries have transitioned away from exploration toward luxury, and today are little more than an expensive status symbol. While Jeep has also modernized the Wrangler over the years (it now offers a decent level of comfort), it has lost none of its capability and rugged dependability. The Wrangler is, therefore, often cited as one of the best platforms for round-the-world travel, as discussed at length on the Overland Journal Podcast. If you’d like to see how you can outfit a Jeep like this for long-term adventure travel, check out these inspiring builds from 4XTRAIL and Drew Simms. Alternatively, watch Scott Brady put the 392 HEMI Jeep Wrangler Rubicon through its paces on the Expedition Portal YouTube channel. Today’s 2007 Wrangler is, without doubt, one of the nicest examples we’ve featured and showcases a desirable Cummins diesel conversion, a long list of premium modifications, and has already proven to be a faithful travel companion in Africa.

From the Seller:

This Jeep loves to be off-road! Some hidden dust from 36,000 miles in southern and eastern Africa included. One owner. We have loved this Jeep and all the places it has allowed us to go.”

2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with Cummins 4BT

The Wrangler was originally fitted with a 4.0-liter motor that produced 190 horsepower and 235-pound feet of torque, but this has since been replaced with a Cummins 4BT diesel (in stock form, it produces 105 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque). Cummins’ engines are considered some of the best on the market, favored for being easy to work on, often bulletproof, and having excellent parts availability internationally. The engine conversion is mated with excellent all-terrain capability thanks to 4WD, front and rear locking differentials, 4.88 gearing, rock sliders, high and low range, and more. Inside driver comforts include:

  • Premium Sony audio
  • Air-conditioning
  • Power steering, windows, and doors
  • Cruise control

Distinguishing Features

  • ARB dual air compressor
  • Hutchinson Rock Monster wheels with Cooper ST Maxx tires
  • Gobi Rack roof rack
  • Fox 2.0 adjustable shocks with remote reservoirs and Synergy Springs with a 6-inch lift
  • Tuffy security lockable drawer
  • Warn winch
  • Bundutec BunduAwn awning

This 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with Cummins 4BT is listed for $60,000 or a reasonable offer and is currently located in Reno, Nevada. Check the full vehicle specifications via the original Expedition Portal forum post here.
