Overland Classifieds :: 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited LJ

The Jeep Wrangler, like the Land Rover Defender and the Toyota Land Cruiser, has a cult-like following. The Wrangler is not a luxurious vehicle, nor is it especially comfortable, but it is one of the most capable 4WDs money can buy. This is a vehicle designed from the factory to conquer the toughest terrain and get you home again. It’s therefore a desirable choice on our forum with recent examples including this 2016 expedition build, a 2017 Unlimited Sport model, and a 2016 Rocklander. It’s also popular with the Expedition Portal team and was subsequently chosen as a project vehicle and discussed at length on the Overland Journal Podcast. If you’d like a better idea of how this platform can be outfitted for exploration then check out Brian McVicker’s fantastic article on How to Make a Jeep Wrangler Ready for Extended Travel. Alternatively, watch this Ultimate Jeep Wrangler camper tour on the Down2Mob YouTube channel. Today’s low-mileage (57,400 miles) 2006 Rubicon has been meticulously maintained and showcases extensive premium modifications.

From the Seller:

“[The Jeep is] always serviced and [I] have all receipts; [it] runs great, [and is] very dependable. [It] will take you anywhere. Considered by some to be the Holy Grail of Jeeps, [they were] only made in 2005 and 2006.”

The Wrangler is fitted with a 4.0-liter motor that produces 190 horsepower, 235 pound-feet of torque, and returns a combined 15 mpg. A dependable engine is matched with legendary capability thanks to 4WD, high and low range, front and rear locking differentials, factory rock sliders, and more. The Wrangler is decidedly utilitarian inside but today’s example does benefit from  air conditioning, power steering, a Cobra CB radio, cupholders, Bluetooth head unit, and more.
