Overland Classifieds :: 1997 Ford E-350 Quigley 4×4 Ambulance

Ex-ambulances are a popular choice for camper conversions as they offer more living space than a standard van while being more cost-effective than buying an actual motorhome or investing in a custom habitation box. E-350 ambulances are regularly listed on the forum (see this recent 2000 model), but it’s more unusual to find one that showcases a professional 4WD conversion. Furthermore, when these unicorns do become available, it’s usually for a premium price— check out this $62,500 Ujoint Offroad E-350 or this eye-watering $145,000 E-350 Sportsmobile. Alternatively, this 1997 Quigley 4×4 conversion, featuring a low-mileage Powerstroke motor, is priced at $21,000 and offers the perfect blank canvas for your dream overland rig.

From the Seller:

“I have two 4×4 7.3-liter Ambos. I only need one. I’m offering this hard-to-find rig to someone who wants to make it their own. I have a Carfax report and Quigley build sheet. This is from southwest Virginia. The frame is in great condition compared to what I’m used to seeing in Pennsylvania. I’m not in a hurry to sell. I will continue to slowly clean and fix up the rig until it sells.”

1997 Ford E-350 Quigley 4×4

This Ford E-350 is fitted with the legendary 7.3-liter Powerstroke diesel that produces 215 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque (some engines were uprated to 225 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque). Performance and economy are not the Powerstroke’s strengths, but these engines are considered bulletproof and are subsequently long-lived, with well-maintained examples often exceeding 1,000,000 miles.

Established in 1974, Quigley 4×4 is highly regarded for its E-350 4WD conversions. The company’s E-350 4×4 conversion is designed using parts that align with the vehicle model year, thus ensuring the work does not impact the factory warranty.
