The Nissan Titan is a vehicle that probably does not get as much attention as it deserves despite an excellent reliability track record since its release in 2004 and a class-leading 5-year/100,000-mile basic warranty. Sales of the first generation Titan peaked in 2005 with nearly 87000 sales, followed by another peak of close to 53000 sales of the second generation post-relaunch in 2017. Since then, sales have been declining steadily; perhaps the 2024 Nissan Titan refresh will help turn those sales around.
The 2024 Titan is powered by a 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gasoline engine, delivering 400 horsepower and 413 pound-foot of torque. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, with a towing capacity of up to 9,290 pounds and a maximum payload capacity of 1,710 pounds when properly equipped. For those seeking more hauling power, the Titan XD offers a maximum towing capacity of up to 11,050 pounds and a payload capacity of 2,360 pounds when properly equipped with a gooseneck trailer hitch. The XD model is built on a fully boxed, full-length ladder frame, which offers enhanced stiffness and torsional rigidity, providing added confidence while towing.
The Titan’s functional design philosophy extends to its exterior and pickup bed. The Platinum Reserve grades, for instance, feature a striking satin chrome finish on the grille, while the PRO-4X sports a bold black grille centered around the Nissan badge scripted in Lava Red. The truck bed is equipped with full-surround lighting from four LED sources, a standard damped tailgate for easy lifting and lowering, and a 120-volt in-bed power outlet. The Utili-track Bed Channel System offers three-bed rails and two heavy-duty aluminum alloy cleats, providing numerous tie-down possibilities.
Inside the cabin, the 2024 Titan boasts versatile interior storage solutions, including a flexible smartphone holder/charging system. An 8-inch center touchscreen display comes standard, with a 9-inch touchscreen for select models. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across all grades, with PRO-4X and Platinum Reserve offering the convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay. The driver’s line of sight is optimized with a 7-inch programmable driver information display, presenting important vehicle information.
One of the 2024 Titan highlights is the all-new SV Bronze Edition package, which features an array of bronze visual enhancements. The truck showcases a gloss black front grille surround, black front bumper, and exterior badges, while the utility mirrors are adorned in black. The interior boasts a tasteful combination of black and bronze trim pieces. Completing the SV enhancements are the Bronze Edition floor mats and the 20-inch bronze wheels, which accentuate the Titan’s stance. Additionally, the truck boasts full LED headlights and a sports bar for added allure.
Nissan has streamlined the 2024 Titan’s model lineup to cater to various buyer preferences. The Titan King Cab is exclusively available in the SV 4×4 trim, while the Titan Crew Cab offers both 4×2 and 4×4 models with a choice of SV, PRO-4X, and Platinum Reserve grades. Notably, the Titan S grade and SV King Cab 4×2 have been discontinued. The Titan XD remains available as a Crew Cab 4×4 with a choice of SV, PRO-4X, and Platinum Reserve grades.
Pricing for the 2024 Titan starts at $45,770, with the Titan XD commencing at a base price of $51,930.
