4Runner TRD Offroad Premium

I’ve long admired the 5th-generation Toyota 4Runner, which has aged like fine wine and is unquestionably a pinnacle platform for overland travel. It’s unapologetically honest, emphasizing build quality, rugged dependability, and practicality above all else, and does not preoccupy itself with being the most powerful or luxurious in the segment. Under the surface, this unassuming body-on-frame SUV is based on the international Prado 150 chassis, which is depended on by frontline agencies in developing countries globally (one of the reasons it offers such a significant payload compared to competitors in the segment). Publisher Scott Brady states: “Starting with the Fifth-Generation 4Runner, Toyota really hit its stride and found the perfect blend of reliability, durability, capability, and comfort.” For these reasons and more, it featured in our Top Ten New Overland SUVs on the Overland Journal Podcast. The 5th-gen was a runaway success and sold as many units as the 1st, 2nd, and 4th generations combined. This is a vehicle you can depend on no matter the weather, terrain, or application, and thanks to excellent aftermarket support, it can be modified to no end to suit your objectives. Cue today’s turnkey one-owner 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium (33,xxx miles) that has been overland outfitted from the ground up with top-tier parts and accessories.

From the Seller:

My idea with this build was to have a vehicle with everything I need for a last-second trip, without being weighed down or ruining the drive. The Ironman Stage 3 Foam Cell Pro suspension rides amazingly well as both a daily driver and off-roader and gets me anywhere I want to be. Living outside of Bend, Oregon, I wanted to be able to make a last-second decision to leave work, head into the Cascades, and wake up in the mountains on a whim, and this rig is perfect for that. The rear platform is ideal for rolling out a Hest mattress, and with the insulated magnetic window covers, it’s quick to get stealthy and comfortable. The interior MOLLE panels and exterior Prinsu racks will hold my skis, bikes, fishing gear, and everything I need for camp, and with the Dometic fridge and Jackery battery, I can stay charged up and supplied. With this setup, I’ve been on a day trip biking up on Surveyor’s Ridge outside of Hood River and decided to stay the night on the spot, along with many similar trips outside of Leavenworth, the Sisters Wilderness, and some spur of the moment coastal trips out by Manzanita.
