Mitsubishi Fuso 4x4

The Mitsubishi Fuso 4×4 is a great option for heavier expedition builds, with recent examples including this 2002 Overlander, 2007, and 2017 with a Total Composites box. It’s one of a select few heavy-duty 4WD truck platforms sold globally, which ensures access to support and parts internationally. It’s especially prevalent as a commercial workhorse in developing countries as it provides the ideal combination of durability, fuel range, capability, and an impressive payload, all within a relatively compact footprint. For these reasons and more, it was the platform of choice for premium overland truck builder EarthCruiser (their EXP model was field-tested by Scott Brady on the Expedition Portal YouTube channel). Cue today’s 2008 Mitsubishi Fuso FG140 4×4 (204,000 miles), which has been tastefully uprated for travel and is topped with a unique habitation box with an electric lifting roof (this allows for shipping in a container). If you’d like to deep dive full-time travel in a Fuso 4WD, check out the adventures of Down2Mob Overland, Our Midlife Adventures, and Journeyman.

From the Seller:

The truck runs great and has been well maintained throughout its life. I purchased it from a Fuso dealer, and it was previously owned by EarthCruiser as a parts runner truck before that. The aluminum camper was built by a collection of fabricators and engineers from Reno, Nevada, and myself. It was conceptualized to have the lightweight/offroad advantages of a camper, such as a Four Wheel camper, but with the strength and integrity of a hardside pop-up. The advantages include less drag while driving and the availability to put it in a sea container or a high garage without a problem. With some more additions this thing could be an amazing overland RV. I don’t have the means to completely finish it, so I’m hoping it can go to someone who can use it to its full potential.”
