Porsche Cayenne V8 Twin-Turbo

The Porsche Cayenne has always had something of a cult following within the overlanding community but in more recent years the popularity of these budget-friendly rigs has increased significantly. It’s no secret that most luxury 4WDs depreciate rapidly so picking up a vehicle that originally cost $90,000 for under $20,000 is nothing new. There are a multitude of reasons for this but generally speaking, these types of vehicles do not age well and become increasingly costly to run. Sure, it’s an attractive proposition to acquire a luxury 4WD you previously could never have afforded but you have to consider that spare parts from the dealership will be reflective of the vehicle’s original retail price i.e. expensive. Fortunately, there are workarounds and the flip side of the argument is if you’re going to build your dream overland vehicle why not start with something special? With this in mind, you can systematically replace problematic systems (with the Cayenne this is often the air suspension) and uprate any weaknesses. Further still. Today’s (136,000 miles) one-owner twin-turbo V8 Cayenne has just received a clean bill of health from the dealership, features tasteful upgrades, and is priced at just $18,000. That’s a lot of vehicle for the money and a fantastic blank canvas to build something exceptional. If you’d like some additional inspiration then check out the rigs from Porsche Center South Lakes, Eurowise Inc, and Harrison Schoen.

From the Seller:

One owner (original owner, my brother, and now me). Service records and the last one carried out at a local Porsche dealer with a clean bill of health. Zero mechanical issues, runs like new, and is very well cared for. It needs a Sherpa roof rack, a Cascadia roof top tent, and an ARB freezer (same set-up as I traveled through South America in my Landcruiser).
