1998 Ram 2500 Cummins w/ 2006 Outfitter Manufacturing Camper – SOLD

Ram 2500

Over the past few weeks, we’ve featured a number of bargain rigs, including this $7,000 1992 Toyota 4Runner SR5, $13,000 1997 Lexus LX450, and $9,000 2004 Ram 2500 with a Leer camper. These overland platforms remind you that you don’t need to spend a fortune to hit the road, and today’s offering is no exception. At $17,500 OBO, this 1998 Ram 2500 (345,000 miles), showcasing tasteful upgrades, a custom flatbed with storage boxes, and topped with a fully equipped Outfitter Manufacturing camper might be the best value full-size set-up to date, and it’s a legitimate four-season rolling home. It’s a favorite on the forum for heavier expedition builds with recent offerings including this 2004, 2020 Laramie Night Edition with OEV Camp X camper, and 2020 with a Supertramp Flagship LT camper. The 5.9-liter Cummins-powered 2500 is considered by many as one of the very best, with many well-maintained examples exceeding half-a-million miles. Subsequently, the second-gen model remains a desirable choice for travel with drool-worthy builds from Epic Adventures Offroad, CJC Offroad, and TFL Classics

From the Seller:

I am selling this for my mother. My father passed away unexpectedly about two years ago. My father and I were always into camping and Jeeping. I bought a 2002 Power-Stroke Sportsmobile for around $50,000 (around 12 years ago). He built this rig on a budget and for less than half the price of the Sportsmobile. The Dodge has more room inside, a bathroom, shower, and tons of heavy duty storage for jacks/tools and camping equipment. The aluminum frame camper has roof-mounted air-conditioning, which is rare with the pop tops. The truck is much easier to work on and easier to lift and modify than a van. Very capable towing and gets great fuel economy.”
