Video of the Week: Principles of Overlanding – Vehicle Selection

We often fall in love with a particular vehicle for emotional reasons and automatically decide that it’s the rig we need. Maybe we have fond memories from our childhood of driving around the forest with our father in his old Land Cruiser. Naturally, when we begin looking for our own adventure vehicle, experiences like the one I just mentioned can hijack our decision-making process. But is this really the best way to select an overland vehicle?

In this video of the week, we address the topic of vehicle selection in our ongoing principles of overlanding YouTube series. Instead of just selecting the G.O.A.T, Scott encourages us to start our selection process by being realistic about our needs. Four wheels are not always better than two, and on a long-distance overland trip, there are many different types of vehicles to consider.
