Video of the Week: Perpetual Motion in Baja Norte

Overlanding is about the journey, the experience, the culture, and the people of a place. It’s about taking in all of the sights, sounds, and smells the road has to offer, regardless of your form of travel or budget. That’s why I really dig this latest series from the duo at West x 1000. It’s a fun, artfully edited story of their wanderings through Baja, focusing on the landscape around them instead of the vehicles. That’s not to say their vehicles aren’t cool though. In fact, they’re both retro and unconventional overland platforms, which makes us dig them even more. We won’t spoil the fun though! Check out the full story in the video below, and be sure to watch their subsequent adventures.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Chris didn’t receive a real taste of the outdoors until moving to Prescott, Arizona, in 2009. While working on his business degree, he learned to fly and spent his weekends exploring the Arizona desert and high country. It was there that he fell in love with backcountry travel and four-wheel drive vehicles, eventually leading him to Overland Journal and Expedition Portal. After several years of honing his skills in writing, photography, and off-road driving, Chris now works for the company full time as Expedition Portal's Senior Editor while living full-time on the road.
