Video of the Week: Decked

Have you ever watched that show How It’s Made? We tend to geek out over the intricacies and complexities that go into producing the products we love, so you could say we’re pretty big fans. That’s probably why this video on Decked got us excited. It starts at the beginning of the product’s life cycle with the company’s founder, and then proceeds to give you an inside look at how their systems were developed from handmade wooden drawers to the high-quality, durable platforms they make today. Along the way, you’ll get a peek at their production process, the small town factories and partners across the US, and the fun ways Decked employees use their systems every day. So, sit back and enjoy the show.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Chris didn’t receive a real taste of the outdoors until moving to Prescott, Arizona, in 2009. While working on his business degree, he learned to fly and spent his weekends exploring the Arizona desert and high country. It was there that he fell in love with backcountry travel and four-wheel drive vehicles, eventually leading him to Overland Journal and Expedition Portal. After several years of honing his skills in writing, photography, and off-road driving, Chris now works for the company full time as Expedition Portal's Senior Editor while living full-time on the road.
