Cyrus Croft, the eldest of the three Croft brothers, has spent much of his life immersed in adventure and the XOverland way of life. Now, it’s his turn to build a rig of his own, drawing on years of overlanding experience and the support of a team that knows the craft better than almost anyone.
In this episode, he takes on the build of a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road. After putting more than 100,000 miles on the stock suspension, Cyrus decides it’s time for a serious upgrade, and there is some severe tire rubbing that needs to be addressed. With guidance from ARB, he installs the all-new Old Man Emu MT64 suspension system—an overhaul designed to handle the extra weight of a rooftop tent and bed rack, improve clearance for 33-inch tires, and maintain a smooth, controlled ride on both pavement and trail.

Cyrus walks viewers through the installation, shares his goals for the build, and offers his initial impressions of how the MT64 system transforms the Tacoma’s ride and capability. Built for balance, this Tacoma is equally at home as a daily driver and as a capable weekend adventure rig—comfortable, composed, and ready for the next journey.
Following thorough evaluations at the Overland Journal test track and extended on-road trials, it’s evident that Cyrus is thrilled with the performance of the new suspension setup.
