Tribe Trailers is an Arizona-based, family-owned enterprise born from the shared passion for adventure of father and son duo Brett and Sean Maister. The flagship range includes three trailers (the Basecamp, Expedition 500, and Traveler) and El Cap, a cab-over-truck camper, each tailored to different adventurers’ needs and budgets across the spectrum.
El Cap
Tribe’s El Cap cab-over truck bed camper is designed for half-ton trucks and is a blend of design and functionality. This compact yet feature-rich truck camper can comfortably sleep up to five full-grown adults, making this an excellent option for families. Highlights include a pop-up roof tent for sleeping, headroom, and ventilation; a versatile seating area convertible into a sleeping space; a near queen-sized bed; accessible storage spaces; and provision for a stove and refrigerator. The external MOLLE channel, a solar panel, portable toilet, and two 5-gallon water tanks are practical additions that make this camper an excellent choice for those seeking compact comfort and performance. Did I mention that the camper can sleep five adults? From $35,000.
Basecamp
Described by Tribe Trailers as “the Swiss Army Knife of trailers,” the Basecamp trailer boasts an independent suspension system featuring double-wrapped, galvanized, hot-dipped steel A-arms, ensuring durability and providing superior performance. The suspension is balanced with a shock and spring system, paired with 31-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires, allowing the trailer to traverse various terrains. A host of amenities includes a slide-out kitchen, a 17-gallon water tank, and an advanced electrical system, making this model a great companion for explorers. As the name suggests, the Basecamp is well suited to providing a base for exploration. From $25,000.
Expedition 500
Next in the Tribe’s lineup, and at the top of the company range, is the Expedition 500, incorporating an extensive list of sophisticated features that offer comfort and convenience in the wild: a comprehensive control panel, high-capacity deep-cycle batteries, hot water facilities, and an indoor and outdoor kitchen. The Expedition 500’s airbag suspension system is its crowning feature, allowing flexible height adjustment for different towing conditions.
The model also contains the following:
- Sizable water tanks;
- A full-size and convertible sleeping area;
- A complete bathroom within the “pop top” trailer.
The addition of an air-conditioning and heater system elevates this camper trailer experience and enables comfortable and safe exploration of both hot and cold climates. From $55,000.
Traveler
Finally, the Traveler marks Tribe’s foray into retro 1960s style recreational camping trailers, focusing on a minimalist outdoor experience. Available in bright yellow and baby blue, the Traveler is quite unlike any of the other products in the Tribe Trailers range being less “tactical” and more fashionable. Its traditional ball hitch and 7-pin controller ensure seamless connection and control. Unique features include a front compartment with dual access, a convertible bed-to-sitting area, and a kitchen on a track system. Lightweight at 1,100 pounds, the Traveler is designed for effortless towing behind your old-school travel vehicle. From $17,500.
In addition to recreation products, Tribe Trailers also offers two commercial products: a heavy-duty dump trailer and a flatbed trailer built for industrial applications.
