The Maxvan Access Camper is Nothing if Not Unique

At first glance, the Maxvan Access Camper looks like a Ram Promaster that is pregnant with a large cube. This may seem like a negative, but as someone who has designed and built a similarly cubic camper, it is relatively obvious that a cube holds more volume than a rounded cuboid of equal diameter and length and is much simpler to build and outfit. This large cube, the body of the camper, is wedged in the cut-out between the rear doors of the Promaster and the cab. So yes, this camper is indeed unique.

One of the key features of the Maxvan Access is its accessible layout, making it a viable option not only for outdoor adventurers but also for those who prioritize ease of entry and usability in a vehicle. Unlike many camper vans that focus solely on maximizing interior space for camping, the Access model integrates accessibility features like a low floor and wide entry doors. These design elements make it possible for a broader range of individuals to use the van comfortably, including those who may have mobility challenges.

The interior of the Maxvan Access excludes masculine practicality. The bathroom and shower system features a cassette toilet with a durable ceramic bowl, offering a 5-gallon capacity for extended use. The standing room shower basin provides ample space for showering, complemented by a stainless steel shelf for organizing bathroom accessories. For added functionality, a toilet hideaway curtain is included, and a bright LED shower light enhances visibility. Water storage consists of a freshwater tank offering a 20-gallon capacity and a gray water tank holding 19 gallons. The water heater is designed to meet the van’s efficiency needs, providing reliable hot water for showers and other uses.

Storage is a critical consideration for any camper van, and the Maxvan Access incorporates ample storage solutions, including overhead compartments, under-seat storage, and a generous rear cargo area. For those planning extended stays on the road, the van’s modular storage design allows for efficient packing and easy access to essential items. Whether it’s storing bulky items like camping gear or organizing smaller accessories, the Maxvan Access provides a thoughtful approach to storage.

Another significant feature of the Maxvan Access is its focus on power management and sustainability. Equipped with solar power options, the van can function efficiently in off-grid situations with ample power for a refrigerator, lighting, and charging stations for electronic devices, ensuring that users can stay connected and comfortable even when they’re far from civilization.

Built on the reliable Ram ProMaster van platform, the Access model combines maneuverability with the power needed to navigate a variety of moderate terrains. The van’s suspension system is optimized for comfort, ensuring that long drives do not result in fatigue. Additionally, the van is equipped with advanced safety features, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance, providing peace of mind during extended road trips.

The van is insulated to provide protection from extreme weather conditions, whether users are traveling in hot climates or cold environments. The insulation ensures that the interior remains comfortable regardless of the weather outside, and the inclusion of climate control options further enhances comfort levels, allowing users to regulate the interior temperature easily.

With a focus on practicality, the Maxvan Access Camper is probably not everyone’s cup of tea, but it will appeal to a traveler for whom moderate off-piste exploration and ease of access are a priority.
