SW-Motech Rolls Out Luggage and Protection for the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

SW-Motech - Royal Enfield Himalayan

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has quickly become a favorite among adventure motorcyclists, offering a blend of rugged capability, modern features, and an attractively low price of entry. RE’s biggest improvements to the bike include its new liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that doubles the horsepower of the old Himalayan and the fresh design of the twin-spar frame. More power and more backbone make it easier to load up the Himmy for long-term travel.  To enhance this machine’s potential, SW-Motech has introduced a comprehensive range of accessories tailored specifically for the Himalayan 450, focusing on luggage solutions, protection, and ergonomic enhancements.

SW-Motech Trax Luggage System

Luggage Solutions

For riders planning extended journeys, efficient and durable luggage is essential. SW-Motech offers the TRAX ADV aluminum case system, featuring two robust, waterproof 45-liter cases. These panniers are mounted on the PRO side carriers, designed for a secure fit and easy removal when not in use. The system ensures ample storage while maintaining the bike’s balance and handling. The TRAX series also offers aluminum top case options. Perhaps SW’s most clever storage solution is the Icon tank ring, which is a rigid mounting base that bolts to the Himalayan’s factory hardware and allows for fast attachment and removal of their many sizes and shapes of tank bags.

For riders preferring a compact storage setup with a more traditional look, the Legend Gear side bag system combines a classic aesthetic with modern functionality. This system includes two durable waxed canvas bags attached via Himalayan-specific SLC side carriers, making for straightforward installation and removal. The combination of the canvas and abrasion-resistant Napalon synthetic leather offers both style and resilience against the elements.

Protection Accessories

SW-Motech is also introducing steel protection accessories for the Himalayan. Their crash bars, constructed from 27-millimeter diameter steel tubing with a weather-resistant black powder coating, provide a safeguard for the engine and fairing components. These crash bars are designed to integrate seamlessly with the Himalayan 450’s frame, ensuring optimal cornering clearance and preserving the bike’s aesthetics.

The SW-Motech’s aluminum skid plate is a useful addition to shield the engine’s underside from debris and impacts. Crafted from 4-millimeter-thick aluminum, this bash plate offers comprehensive under-bike protection without significantly adding to the motorcycle’s weight.

Ergonomic Enhancements

Boosting comfort and bike control are also key considerations during long rides in rough terrain. SW-Motech’s adjustable footrests allow riders to fine-tune their riding position, boosting comfort and reducing fatigue. These footrests are designed for easy installation on your new Himalayan and provide a range of adjustments to suit individual preferences.

Additionally, the Adventure handguards offer protection for the rider’s hands and the bike’s controls. Featuring a sturdy aluminum backbone and impact-resistant plastic shells, these handguards are built to withstand the rigors of off-road riding while providing an extra measure of safety for your paws.

Want to go whole hog? SW-Motech also offers an Adventure Set that includes a full suite of bike protection in a package you can order with one click, including crash bars, engine guards, handguards, and crash pads.
