Supertramp Campers Flagship LT: The Slide-in that Fits Any Full-size Pickup

While the mid-size pickup is currently akin to the popular kid at school, full-size trucks are experiencing their own growth spurt. Improved capability, ample spaciousness, and power appeal to many who desire additional space for a family, more stuff, and a generous payload rating often exceeding mid-size offerings. Realizing this, Supertramp Campers introduced its Flagship LT truck camper, designed to fit any full-size pickup with a 6.5-foot bed and includes modern comforts and a dry weight of 1,250 pounds.

The Colorado-based company debuted the Flagship LT at last year’s Overland Expo Mountain West. The camper shell is constructed from Monocoque fiberglass composite, while the 360-degree windowed pop-up is made from three-layer insulated fabric and includes zippered shades, marine-grade vinyl, and mesh. All soft goods are sewn in-house.

The living space features a standard queen bed with 36 inches of headroom, an L-shaped couch, and 34 cubic feet of storage space, including under-bed organization and a 48-inch pullout basement storage drawer. I spent some time (albeit minimal) in the camper during this year’s Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona, and was impressed by the company’s attention to detail and quality finishings, from the zipper pulls to the various interior cushion color options (Glacial Valley cool tones or Desert Mesa warmth). The interior space was bright, with plenty of windows and a comfortable dinette, and the 6-foot-nine interior will greatly please tall folks.

The base price of $52,000 USD includes amenities such as a Truma Combi heater, two Maxxair fans, a 65-liter isotherm fridge, 100Ah Battleborn lithium battery, 300 watts of solar, an outdoor shower, and a portable cassette toilet. For MOLLE fans, Supertramp offers three panels (cut in-house) and exterior L-track locations. Additional accessories are listed on the Supertramp website.

If you’re eager to learn more, Suptertramp will attend Overland Expo Mountain West from August 26 to 28; otherwise, visit their website at supertrampcampers.com.

On the zig-zag route south, she hiked craggy peaks in the Andes, discovered diverse cultures in 15 different countries, and filled her tummy with spicy ceviche, Baja fish tacos, and Argentinian Malbec.
