Today, on the first day of Winter, I rode deep into the Arizona desert on Apache Trail. I borrowed a KTM 990 Adventure to make the trip. The road is a winding path through canyons and past massive rock formations. I worked my way towards Apache Lake, stopping off at every small road that looked promising along the way. The temperature was in the mid 40’s when I left early in the morning, but quickly warmed up into the 60’s as the sun rose higher into the sky. The scenery was quite the contrast from Northern California, and the roads and trails were easy to ride at high speed. Apache Trail is an amazing road and I’d highly suggest riding it if you’re ever in the Phoenix area.
