When you hear the word “getaway,” what destinations come to mind? I’m willing to bet that it’s not your own backyard. But that’s the idea behind this week’s destination.

Getaways don’t have to be exotic or far from home to offer your weary soul the relaxation, restoration, or concentration you seek. Getaways also don’t necessarily have to be a vacation. Sometimes a change of scenery or a new location can provide the inspiration you’ve been needing for that breakthrough in your creative/professional work. This week, imagine creating a private getaway in your backyard, garden, or wherever you need it, with the Hello Wood Studio’s Workstation Cabin.

A Getaway, Wherever You Need It.

Simple in design and modest in size, the Workstation Cabin is a pre-fabricated, geometric structure that can be situated almost anywhere your heart desires. Its steel legs suggest a lightness, almost making it appear to float above its surroundings. The 8-square meter space is big enough to be a tiny office, art studio, or workout room, and because it is soundproofed and insulated, it can provide a welcomed escape or guest quarters year-round.

The pre-installed electrical infrastructure allows for the use of air conditioning or heating and also lets you carry on with work tasks or relaxation practices that require power. Large windows let in natural light, and wood paneling makes up the interior of the Workstation Cabin, providing a pleasant aesthetic that is immediately at home in a natural landscape.

While the size of the Workstation Cabin lends itself to portability, you’d be smart to check with your local municipality’s building codes before ordering one and setting it up.
