Overland Classifieds :: 2021 SLRV Expedition Vehicle on Acela 6×6 Chassis

I’ve recently shared several affordable overland rigs, including this $15,500 Tacoma TRD 4×4 and a $20,000 Lexus LX450, but amazingly neither rig offered “wine storage for 20 bottles,” which simply will not do. Obviously, extra features will come at a cost, but can you really put a price on safely transporting your Barolo? Well, it turns out you can, $675,000 to be precise. But fear not, as your new wine rack includes a super low-mileage (13,000 miles) 7.2-liter 6×6 SLRV Expedition Vehicle. That’s an unfathomable sum of money for most of us, but in the world of luxury overland vehicles, it’s a great value. For example, the comparable EarthRoamer HD starts at a whopping $1,900,000. So, there you have it, a budget overlander that will suit even the most frugal tech billionaire, oil tycoon, or member of the royal family. You’re welcome.

From the Seller:

The chassis is a 1999 Acela 6×6 that was completely overhauled and delivered in December 2019. The chassis was then shipped to Australia to have SLRV build a 6.8-meter box. Everything was completed, and the finished expedition vehicle arrived in the US in June 2021. You can read about the entire build on the forum.”

1999 Acela Monterra 6×6

The Monterra 6×6 is fitted with a 7.2-liter turbo-diesel that produces 330 horsepower, 860 pound-feet of torque, and is capable of propelling this 6×6 truck to a top speed of 74 mph. A huge engine is matched with impressive all-terrain performance thanks to intermediate and rear-axle lockers, parabolic taper-leaf springs with twin-tube shock absorbers, 22 inches of ground clearance, a cab-controlled tire inflation system, and full-time 4WD.
