Overland Classifieds :: 2009 Toyota Tacoma w/ Madcap Cab-Over Camper

The rule of the Tacoma continues with this overland-ready 2009 4×4 V6 beauty. This truck showcases several premium modifications, including King adjustable shocks, Deaver rear leaf springs, PowerStop brakes, a 6-inch Procomp lift, and much more. However, perhaps the most notable feature is the Madcap camper, which sits perfectly in the range between the AluCab canopy fitted to this 2017 Tacoma TRD 4×4 Sport, and larger campers, such as the Uro-Camper mounted to this Land Cruiser HZJ79.

The Madcap provides plenty of storage and is a comfortable place to sleep, relax, and shelter from the elements without the need for a rooftop tent, yet it’s no wider than the truck and is relatively lightweight. In my opinion, this setup is close to overlanding perfection. With a few additions (such as an underslung water tank, swing-away rear storage, and perhaps a full-length roof rack, etc.), I wouldn’t hesitate to choose it for long-term travel.

From the Seller:

All of the modifications [were] completed by me or Thorsons Offroad here in Santa Rosa. This rig has been amazing and has never left me stuck or stranded. [It is] very capable and comfortable in just about any conditions you can throw at it. I take it off-road, but it’s never wheeled or abused, just some mild trails and fire roads to access remote camp spots. Drives like a Cadillac on- and off-road with the Kings, Icons, and Deaver springs.”
