Ah, the trusty old E-250 Econoline van. I can’t begin to tell you how many of these I’ve toured during my tenure on the road. It’s a simple vehicle: understated, unassuming, and perhaps most importantly, stealthy. Could it be the perfect rig for extended road trips or even full-timing in North America? That will all come down to what your needs are.
The beauty of this particular vehicle is that the camper conversion is relatively simple, with no plumbing and limited electrical infrastructure. There is a refrigerator/freezer, diesel heater, solar electrical system, and a lofted bed with gear storage underneath. At 151,000 miles, it’s certainly not a young vehicle, but thanks to regular maintenance, this camper could have years of adventure left for the frugal buyer.
From The Seller
“The time has come for me to sell my Ford Econoline conversion van. Its a 2006 E-250 Econoline regular wheel base, with a 5.4 v8 engine with 151,000 miles 2wd. Power Windows and Locks. I converted this van myself a little over a year ago while working at a professional van conversion shop in Oregon and built this using some pretty high standards, so this isn’t your typical DIY backyard build. I put a lot of time and money into this van. That being said, I did put this van to use for the last year on A LOT of trips so the interior build does have a little bit of wear and tear here and there, nothing major though. Would make a perfect candidate for 4×4 conversion!”
