Overland Classifieds :: 1991 Ford Bronco XLT with Custom Camper

While Toyota, Land Rover, Jeep, and vans of all kinds have dominated the overland space, it’s rarer to see a Ford out in the wild. This 1991 Ford Bronco XLT with a custom camper is reminiscent of Gary and Monika Wescott’s Turtle III, the Ford F-350 with a Four Wheel pop-up camper that the couple drove throughout South America.

This build, however, has been upgraded with a Stroker 393 6.4-liter engine, a custom camper with all of the bells and whistles, and several trips under its belt. The only catch? You’ll have to go to Slovakia to claim it.

From the Seller:

“We have had this car for almost 13 years. It was completely rebuilt from stock, and the camper shell is designed and built from scratch by a professional campervan designer (me). In 2015, we did a five-month trip from Europe via Central Asia (Georgia, Armenia, Kazachstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran). In 2016, we did a six-month trip to Mongolia and Siberia, where we turned back in Vladivostok! After each trip, the car was completely checked and serviced, and it is ready to go around the world again.”

According to Ford, the XLT is the most popular version of the Bronco. The 90’s Broncos have seen a recent increase in popularity in the desert racing scene in the US due to the significant wheel travel out of the truck’s twin traction beam (TTB).

The XLT model has a 5.8-liter V8 engine, automatic transmission, and 4×4 capabilities with 4LO and manual front hubs. The owner of this build replaced the V8 with a Stroker 393 6.4-liter engine with approximately 300 horsepower and a set of 5.13 gears.
