My son is in the market for a lightweight trailer that he can turn into a VR and gaming pad when he is not exploring trails on his ATV. Modern Buggy’s 2027 Hopper Mini XL caught my eye because it combines a compact camping trailer with an outdoor galley and an optional rooftop tent, providing sleeping space for up to four. The manufacturer lists a weight of 1,595 pounds and an overall length of 15 feet, 6 inches. For overland travelers, the appeal is a sheltered sleeping area and useful camp facilities without stepping up to a substantially larger travel trailer.
The only drawback for my son is that he cannot park his ATV inside, but I suppose that is what toy haulers are for. That said, the Mini XL offers a useful combination of space and features, making it worth considering for buyers shopping below $30,000.

The XL is 3 feet longer and 445 pounds heavier than the Hopper Mini, based on Modern Buggy’s published figures. Both models use a convertible sofa with a 6-inch memory foam bed and an exterior kitchen. The smaller Mini therefore retains much of the same basic camping arrangement in a shorter package, while the XL provides a larger platform for travelers willing to accept the additional length and weight.

Modern Buggy specifies a custom steel frame, Azdel Onboard composite interior and exterior materials, and a Dexter torsion axle. The running gear includes ST235/75R15 all-terrain tires, self-adjusting electric brakes, and a side-mounted spare. Published ground clearance is 14 inches. A front aluminum storage box provides space for equipment, while diamond plate protects the front exterior. These features suggest an emphasis on unpaved access roads, although they do not establish how the trailer will perform on technical trails. This trailer is probably best suited to maintained trails which lead to that secret spot from where a traveler can base camp and explore.

The exterior galley includes a stainless steel sink, solid-surface countertop, weatherproof cabinetry, and an outside shower or spray port. All Seasons RV, a dealer in Streetsboro, Ohio, lists an 11-gallon freshwater capacity. Keeping meal preparation outside preserves the cabin for sleeping and seating, although cooking remains exposed to the weather unless owners provide additional shelter.

Inside, the convertible sofa serves as both seating and a bed. Modern Buggy lists enclosed cabinets, storage cubbies, LED lighting, USB charging, and a 32-inch smart television. The advertised four-person capacity requires clarification: All Seasons RV states that an optional rooftop tent supplies the additional sleeping accommodation and is not included in its advertised price. Families comparing trailers should therefore account for the tent’s cost and weight when evaluating the complete package.

For electrical power, the manufacturer lists a deep-cycle battery with a disconnect and a 30-amp shore-power connection. All Seasons RV additionally specifies a fixed 200-watt solar panel. Neither listing establishes battery capacity, so the published equipment does not provide enough information to calculate useful off-grid operating time. Buyers planning extended stays will need to match available storage and charging capacity to their actual electrical demands.
Modern Buggy does not publish an MSRP or delivery date on the Mini XL product page. All Seasons RV currently advertises a 2027 model for $16,990, plus tax, title, and registration, with availability listed as special order. Its specifications differ from the manufacturer’s page, including a 1,650-pound dry weight and composite flooring rather than plywood. Prospective owners should confirm the construction, delivered weight, included equipment, and delivery schedule for the specific trailer being ordered.
