What is it about adventure that stirs our souls? What irresistible facet has managed to lure travelers away from their homes for centuries, and inspired countless expeditions to nearly every corner of the globe? Is it the freedom of escaping our daily lives, a desire to seek out something greater than ourselves, or perhaps just some ancient animal instinct driving us to move ever onward? In truth, I don’t know that there’s one easy answer, but I can tell you that whatever lies behind that allure unites us like few other things can, and is what’s driving the latest project from Tincup.
In many ways, the Tincup Backcountry Adventure seems like countless contests before it, a competition to submit a social-media photo and win a free trip, but look closer and you’ll find their message is about something more. To be specific, it’s about us; what drives us to wander, and what makes us love the outdoors. It’s about our successes, our failures, and lessons learned, but most importantly, it’s about the friendships we forge along the way, and the camaraderie we share through the outdoors. Tin Cup’s goal is to celebrate that camaraderie by sharing our favorite stories of adventure, friendship and the pursuit of discovery, and in return, sharing theirs through an off-road excursion to Tin Cup Colorado, a town only accessible by dirt. The Details
In August, Tincup’s founder, Jess Graber, and a team of world-renowned explorers and photographers will rendezvous in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado with five grand prize winners. From there they will embark on an off-road trip down the western flank of the Continental Divide to the remote town of Tin Cup. Lodging, transportation, and the excursion itself will be covered, and a “complete gear set for discovering the Rockies” will be provided. All you have to do is share your personal story of adventure online by following these three steps.
