GXV Builds the Global Traveler Camper

Global Expedition Vehicles’ “Global Traveler” body can be mounted on a pre-1990, low mileage chassis. This is a critical development for rest of the world (RTW) capable platforms and travelers looking to manage their camper investment. The Mercedes 1017 is a RTW chassis that will operate on nearly all grades of diesel and enjoys worldwide support.

Global Traveler Body

Body dimensions – Length 17’6″ (5359 mm), Width 8’ (2438mm), Height 7’2″ (2209mm)
Body Construction – Body Construction- SCS (Structural Composite Sandwich) 3 ply body panels. Polyurethane foam insulation sandwiched between 0.120 (3mm) exterior, and 0.080 (2mm) interior fiberglass reinforced polyester (see details on engineering pg)
SCS Panel connections are made with an 1344 # per square inch adhesive bond which eliminates metallic heat conduction paths and matched thermal coefficients which eliminate distortion.

SCS Floor panel, 4.33″ (110 mm), with integrated welded steel frame and surfaces of fiberglass reinforced polyester
