Destination: A-frame Cabin, Flagstaff, Arizona

The city of Flagstaff has some of the best access to outdoor recreation an adventurer could ask for. It is located in north-central Arizona, just south of the San Francisco peaks and the Kachina Peaks Wilderness which contain the highest summit within the state (Humphreys Peak, 12,633 feet). Additionally, the 1.8 million-acre Coconino National Forest expands out in every direction from Flagstaff, providing a generous collection of hiking trails and 4WD roads to explore.

When visiting Flag, many accommodations exist, but for those of you who are after quick and easy access to the National Forest (with a rustic aesthetic), this remote A-frame cabin can function as your base camp.

Cabin Details

This A-frame offers sleeping room for up to four guests split between one bedroom with a double bed, and a loft with two inflatable mattresses. There is one shared bathroom with a sink, shower, and toilet.

The main floor of the cabin has an open floor plan consisting of the living room and kitchen, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering exceptional views of the surrounding forest. In the living room, a traditional wood-burning stove provides heat to keep things comfortable and a reading and games area for relaxing with your other guests. The kitchen is well-equipped for meal preparation with a four-burner stove, fridge/freezer, and microwave. A sitting area in the loft with chairs and a television round out the interior of this rustic Flagstaff cabin.

For those who like to spend time outside, the cabin is outfitted with a barbeque grill, horseshoe pits, and three – yes three – wooden decks to take in views of the surrounding landscape. There are also two mountains bikes available to anyone staying at the cabin. Additionally, there is plenty of parking for RVs and large trailers.
