Toyota Tundra SR5 Bound for Nowhere

The term “overland rig” gets thrown around a little loosely these days when referring to any vehicle with big wheels and a lift. It’s therefore refreshing when a build is listed to the Expedition Portal Forum that has been designed from the ground up to be a four-season, go-anywhere rolling home. Today’s example is not simply a proof of concept but rather a vehicle that has been utilized full-time to access hard-to-reach places since 2019. If you’re not familiar with Bound for Nowhere and their epic Tundra, I highly recommend checking them out on YouTube, Instagram, and the Overland Journal Podcast. Their 2019 Tundra SR5, with the optional 5.7-liter motor, is considered by many as one of the very best and is the perfect choice for heavier builds thanks to a 1,633-pound payload. We’ve featured a number of adventure-ready examples recently including this 2014 with a FWC Hawk, a 2013 TRD Supercharged, and a 2019 TRD Off-Road with an A/T Overland Atlas. However, today’s build has to be the nicest to date and certainly reflects the adventurous couple’s extensive overlanding experience. If you’d like a closer look at how their Tundra has been configured for the road less traveled, check out their full rig tour.
