Range Rover P38

There’s no shortage of stunning rigs on the Expedition Portal forum, so it takes something decidedly unique to stop you in your tracks. Today’s 1999 Range Rover P38 HSE (146,000 miles) is one such example. This is a vehicle that’s built-not-bought and is a purchase of the heart rather than the brain. Sure, there are more sensible options out there but there’s something undeniably attractive about a classic 4WD, especially when it’s a Range Rover. Today’s example has been extensively modified with a considerable “$50,000 invested over the years,” and has been uprated from the ground up for remote exploration. A little research revealed that the P38 has something of a cult following within the overlanding community with impressive builds and adventures from Keithy W, Overlandr Adventure, Beady, and Julio R. If you’d like to learn more about this 4WD icon then read reviews from Top Gear and Land Rover Monthly.

From the Seller:

“A familiar motivation to all readers, the relentless pull of the road and love of the wilderness drove me to build this rig. The 1999 to 2002 P38 enjoys a Bosch 4.6 V8, army truck transmission, and an agile wheelbase exceptional on trails and highways alike. Solar, a refrigerator, an air compressor, extra gas, and drinking water add to the independence along with custom inside sleeping for bear country. It takes ATV trails that other rigs cannot. Be a part of the P38 community and share the adventure stories. Valley of the Gods to Engineer Pass—been there, done that, and still smiling about it.”
