2021 Ram 2500 Prospector XL :: Classifieds

Ram Prospector XL

As a classic overland vehicle owner, I struggle to love modern vehicles in the same way. It’s not that I don’t appreciate them or lust after their reliability and refinement, but there’s something about driving a 40-year-old vehicle that makes every journey an adventure (for good or bad). However, some outliers overrule my predisposition to classics, and the Prospector XL is one of them. The proportions are cartoonish in all the best ways, yet at the same time, every modification and accessory is intentional and carefully considered. It’s built by the team at AEV (American Expedition Vehicles), who have forged a reputation for excellence, and who engineer some of the most impressive backcountry vehicles on the market.

If you’d like to better understand the painstaking research and development that goes into trucks like the Prospector, then listen to Scott Brady and Matt Scott’s conversation with AEV owner Dave Harriton as they deep dive into Why Innovation, Quality, and Adventure Matters on the Overland Journal Podcast. Today’s low-mileage 2021 Ram 2500 Prospector XL (14,400 miles) has been meticulously maintained and showcases a full suite of AEV modifications and accessories.

From the Seller:

“One owner. I bought this new from Glendale CJD in Burbank, California, in May of 2021. This truck is amazing. We’ve had it for almost three years and have 14,400 miles on it. You can see we just don’t drive it much. It’s been stored inside since new. I had a ceramic coating done about a year ago by Bob Moses Ceramic here in Phoenix.”
