Ford F-250 Tremor

The F-250 Tremor is considered by many as the ultimate full-size overland truck. Key highlights include exceptional capability, a well-equipped interior, a choice of powerful/reliable motors, excellent aftermarket support, and a 2,665-pound payload. It was for these reasons and more that it was awarded Editor’s Choice in Overland Journal’s Full-Size Truck of the Year with Chairman and Publisher Scott Brady asserting: “The Tremor won the Editor’s Choice because it delivers on everything, we need a full-size truck to be: capable and durable, with the payload to haul any reasonable overland load or camper.” A sentiment that was further emphasized during Scott’s testing of the Tremor on the Expedition Portal YouTube and in his article: Is the Ford Tremor the New Full-Size Overland Benchmark? As someone based in Europe, I’m envious of full-size trucks such as this, which have the capacity and power to comfortably haul a fully-equipped live-in camper, while providing a refined and civilized driving experience. It’s a winning formula that allows owners to focus their time and energy on the joy of travel and new experiences rather than sacrificing time, energy, and money on a rig that’s simply not fit for purpose. Cue today’s super low mileage (14,000 miles) 2021 Ford F-250 Tremor, which showcases the powerful Godzilla motor, premium modifications, and a fully equipped Northstar Liberty camper. If you’d like to better understand how the Tremor performs as a travel companion then check out the builds from Roaming Lost, TFLNow, and Rossmonster.

From the Seller:

Well, the time has come to list my rig for sale. With the arrival of a kiddo and shifting priorities – we just have not used it as much as I imagined we would have (less than 15 nights). I love this rig and have spent a lot of time and effort researching and modifying both the truck and camper and will be bummed to see it go. It is 100% dialed in and ready to go anywhere. Currently located in covered storage near North Lake Tahoe, California, but can show it in Sonoma County, CA, in May if desired. I’m the second owner and purchased the truck 100% stock at 3,000-miles. Ford pre-paid premium service plan transferable and included. All standard maintenance is no-cost. The Godzilla Tremor 7.3 F-250 10-speed is in my opinion one of the best camper platforms as it is mechanically identical to the F-350, has a high payload, reliability, simplicity, power, and is relatively lightweight. Additionally, depending on your home State’s policies- you can also save on registration and insurance compared to an F-350. All modifications completed by professional shops (Avalon in Benicia, CA, for camper electrical and Sierra Adventure Vehicles in Truckee, CA, for all suspension, camper bed bracket, etc).”

The F-250 is fitted with the 7.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 that produces 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a 10-speed transmission. The “Godzilla Gas” motor is considered a perfect fit for the F-250 with enough power to provide ample performance even in high-altitude scenarios. In addition to a long-lived engine and drivetrain, the Tremor is exceptional when the tarmac ends courtesy of 4WD, 4.30 gears with rear locker, front limited-slip differential, 33-inch water fording capability, 2-inch factory lift, skid plates, fender flares, high clearance front bumper, rock sliders, and intelligent onboard systems such as trail cruise control, hill descent control, and trail turn assist. In short, this is one of the most backcountry capable full size trucks on the market. These rugged credentials are balanced with a well-equipped interior courtesy of the XLT Premium package with comforts that include:

  • Reverse Aid Sensor
  • Air conditioning
