Ford E-350 4x4

The Ford E-350 4×4 is a favorite on the forum with recent adventure-ready offerings, including this 2006 Econoline, 2006 with a Stahl Service body and pop top, and 2008 Sportsmobile. This platform seamlessly blends the comfort and amenities synonymous with vanlife with the capability and durability associated with overlanding. Subsequently, these desirable vans regularly fetch between $70,000-$100,000, which makes today’s 2006 Ford E-350 (154,000 miles) an impressive value. It showcases a “bulletproofed” 6.0-liter Power Stroke diesel motor, premium modifications, a Quigley 4×4 conversion, and a Sportsmobile pop-top, yet is priced at just $33,000. This is not only the best value E-350 4×4 we’ve showcased but also one of the best value rigs we’ve listed period; it would make an excellent base for a fully equipped live-in build. From the Seller:

Selling our awesome Quigley van with a Sportsmobile pop-top. This was built as a weekender with multi-purpose use in mind. Although we primarily used it for camping, I wanted a vehicle that also served as a truck. We kept it pretty simple with a modular interior that can be completely removed in about 10 minutes by two people. Then you can go pick up bulky furniture or full sheets of plywood from Home Depot. It also tows like a dream.”

The E-350 is fitted with a 6.0-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel that delivers 235 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. This engine is not refined by modern standards, but it is long-lived if properly maintained (with many owners clocking over 500,000 miles). A dependable motor is mated with excellent capability thanks to a Quigley 4×4 conversion, which uprates the Ford with 4WD, high and low range, armor, uprated and lifted suspension, manual locking front hubs, and more. Inside, these backcountry attributes are balanced with driver comforts that include:

  • Captain’s chairs
  • Power steering, windows, locks, and mirrors
