A Toyota Tundra in the desert

The Tundra is a popular platform for overlanding with recent adventure-ready examples including this 2013 TRD Supercharged, a 2019 with an A/T Overland Atlas, and a 2018 1794 Edition. The first-generation Tundra is considered by many as one of the best for vehicle travel, and there’s no shortage of inspiration online with drool-worthy builds from 208Tyler, Terra Crew, and Down2Mob Overland. In addition, the first gen enjoys access to a wide array of parts, accessories, and services to further uprate it for the road less travelled. A great example of a pinnacle backcountry first gen and what’s possible with aftermarket modification is Basil’s Garage 2005 Toyota Tundra. Today’s 2006 offering has covered 126,xxx-miles, features tasteful modifications, and is topped with a Four Wheel Camper’s Eagle.

First Gen Tundra interior

From the Seller:

I purchased the camper last fall from a friend who was the original owner and I did a custom buildout of the interior. No water damage, funky smells, or structural issues. Before building it out, I did a full maintenance reseal of all seams/seals and roof screws, [and put] two fresh coats of paint on the lower frame inside and out. I also upgraded all of the insulation to Pro Select R-Matte rigid foam board. I have a folder with all documentation of maintenance and servicing; the timing belt and fuel pump are already done. [It was] an Oregon truck since new and transferred to California when I bought it, so zero rust!”
