Bikepacking News :: Kokopelli Will Launch All-New Bikepacking Bags for Spring 2023

Industry-leading packraft and kayak company Kokopelli has announced its ultra-durable Durango bike bag collection designed to revolutionize the bikerafting experience.

Bikepackers will already be familiar with “bikerafting,” which, as the name suggests, refers to a trip that merges adventure cycling with packrafting. This style of human-powered exploration has exploded in popularity in recent years, as the ability to cross open water with a bicycle has completely redefined which routes are possible. As bikerafting has evolved, so too has the equipment on offer; many companies are producing and designing specialized gear, including Kokopelli’s exciting new range of bags.

While bikerafters currently store an entire set of drybags within bikepacking luggage, Kokopelli has seen an opportunity to more efficiently amalgamate the two sports, creating unique bikepacking bags that are at home on both land and water. Constructed with durable 420d double-sided TPU nylon and welded Hypalon daisy chains, the Durango Frame bag’s Tru Zip creates a waterproof and airtight main compartment for fitment to any bike. The collection of waterproof bags will also include top tube, seatpost, and handlebar bags, and a harness. The objective is to make the transition between these two sports as seamless as possible while streamlining the bikerafter’s equipment.

“Until now, there hasn’t been the right bag system that allows users to transition off the trail to the water and back to the trail again,” says Kokopelli General Manager and Product Director Jeff Popp. “Our Durango bikepacking bag line solves this problem and is a great solution for those wanting to paddle and pedal.” Popp adds that the bags provide class-leading durability and protection from the elements while being competitively priced to ensure the “entire product line can go toe-to-toe and exceed some of the top brands on the market.”

Kokopelli’s new dedicated bikerafting bags reflect the company’s mission to create innovative products that meet the needs of its customers and the wider outdoors community. Their Durango bags bridge the gap between these two adventure sports, and will be welcomed by bikerafters looking to reduce weight, minimize their packlist, and save time transitioning from land to water and vice versa.
