In an average year, I spend roughly 800 hours on my mountain bike. I also spend close to 1,000 hours tapping away on my laptop. The combination of those two pursuits, as well as the advancement of years, has conspired to give me Orc-like grabbers complete with aching phalanges and the anemic grasp of an arthritic granny. I’ve found I have become very particular with my mountain bike grips and the possibility of an easy to achieve custom grip has me downright giddy.
Launched on Kickstarter, they achieved their target and grips should be shipping very soon. Using a proprietary material, Imprint Grips can be molded to any shape with a simple process using hot and cold water. The grips can accommodate multiple reshaping, and mount to the bars with a standard aluminum clamps. If they can hold up to a hard season of use, they might be just the ticket for those of us prone to abuse our hands. At only $50 with free shipping to the U.S., they’re certainly worth a try.
