Australian Patriot Campers Has Unveiled the Flagship Supertourer ST7

“I found solace in the strangest place, Way in the back of my mind.” Sia, Alive.

You know a trailer is going to be something special when the launch video opens with a powerful soundtrack (that’s Sia, proudly Australian) and cinematic slow-motion shots that highlight the craftsmanship of Patriot Campers’ latest flagship, the Supertourer ST7. Designed, engineered, and built in Australia, the ST7 debuts a dual-axle layout within the Supertourer range, complemented by advanced technology and off-grid systems that firmly establish it as a luxury expedition platform for discerning travelers (there are bottles of cabernet sauvignon at the rear of the trailer, you know, outside where the spare fuel is usually stored).

At first glance, the ST7 challenges expectations: Patriot had previously declared a 23-foot trailer was “something we said we’d never do,” yet here it is—and the company insists the timing is right.

The key to the ST7 is its dual-axle architecture, which brings improved stability, traction, and control over rugged terrain. Patriot emphasizes that this configuration, combined with its proprietary Trinamic suspension system, ensures the tires stay planted and the trailer handles with precision, whether on highways or remote tracks.

In terms of technical specifications, the ST7 measures 22.3 feet in length, 7.2 feet in width, and stands 7.5 feet high when closed, rising to 9.5 feet when open. Departure angle is quoted at 20 degrees.

Power and autonomy are central to the ST7’s appeal. Patriot equips the trailer with a substantial 920-amp-hour lithium-battery bank, 1,200 watts of roof-mounted solar, and a 3,000-watt inverter.

The system is managed via a new Garmin-controlled electrical interface, delivering monitoring and control of lighting, battery, and solar, climate systems, suspension settings, and even mileage tracking—all from a touchscreen mounted in the trailer (with a slick secondary removable screen for in-vehicle use). The result is a rig ready for remote travel with minimal compromise, except for the 23 feet of length, that is.

Inside, the ST7 emphasizes comfort without sacrificing overland robustness. The interior offers flexible layouts, including a queen-size bed, full-size bunks (including a ceiling-folding forward bunk), café-style day seating, and storage solutions throughout. Depending on the configuration, it can sleep up to five occupants. Additional features include an upright fridge, floor-mounted climate control for a lower center of gravity, and a bathroom with a composting toilet—constructed in a patented two-floor design to keep the dry and wet sections separate.

Storage and water capacities are equally generous: the ST7 delivers approximately 92 cubic feet of storage space, and an additional 13-gallon graywater tank supplements dual 40-gallon water tanks. Meanwhile, the standard “dry tare weight” is targeted at 5,512 pounds with an aggregate trailer mass of 7,716 pounds and a payload of 2,205 pounds.

Pricing begins from AUD $224,900 (approximately USD $181,000) excluding optional extras, tariffs, and shipping in the United States. The premium tag positions the ST7 firmly in the upper echelon of off-road trailers, aimed at serious enthusiasts who demand luxury, performance, and go-anywhere capability.

In launch commentary, Patriot Campers emphasized that the ST7 is not just a larger trailer—it represents a new technology platform for the Supertourer range. Key innovations such as the dual-axle chassis, Garmin system, and Trinamic suspension are positioned as game-changers in the towable market. For overlanders accustomed to striking a balance between comfort and rugged capability, the ST7 may signal that the trade-offs are shifting.

While the price and size will inevitably limit the ST7 to a particular segment of buyers, its arrival contributes to the maturing of the overland trailer category. As 4×4 vehicles become increasingly capable and remote travel continues to expand, demand for trailers that offer both expedition-grade performance and home-style comforts is on the rise. The ST7 is an example of how manufacturers are responding.
