Guest Bio:

Mark White

Mark White is the owner of Amazigh Overland, a specialist overland tour company providing small group overland tours of Morocco, the Western Sahara and beyond. After falling in love with North Africa in the 90s, flying in and renting vehicles to explore, he moved into a more suitable Landcruiser to continue discovering more remote areas. With a staggering 250,000 km traveled, the experience gained is put to use, delivering unique tours for his customers and assisting other travelers visiting the region. Over the years, he has also provided input into guidebooks, expedition support, and an increasing number of requests for recovery assistance in remote areas.

In 2022, along with Piet Gallein, Mark founded Pizzas on the Piste, Morocco’s only overland 3vent. Each year, the event is held at a new site in Morocco, with the exact location only being published 24 hours before the event. Part navigational exercise and part social event, it has been a great success, bringing together travelers in unique locations to swap tales of adventure, eat pizza, and have a lot of fun.

When he’s not running tours or cooking pizzas in the desert, Mark runs several social media groups for overland travel. He uses his experience to provide information, assistance, and inspiration to others visiting North and West Africa. @amazigh_overland

Host Bio:

Ashley Giordano

Ashley recently completed a 48,800-kilometer overland journey from Vancouver, Canada, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, with her husband, Richard, in their well-loved but antiquated Toyota Pickup. On the zig-zag route south, she hiked craggy peaks in the Andes, discovered diverse cultures in 15 different countries, and indulged in spicy ceviche, Baja fish tacos, and Argentinian Malbec. You can usually find Ashley buried in a pile of travel books, poring over maps, or researching wild medicinal plants. Ashley grew up in Kelowna, British Columbia, and spent much of her youth as a competitive figure skater. She worked as a paralegal for eight years while completing a diploma in holistic nutrition. She is currently studying herbal medicine with a focus on women’s health. @desktoglory_ash
