Nissan Xterra

It’s safe to say that today’s 2004 Nissan Xterra is the best deal of 2024 so far at just $5,100. Sure, it’s got 230,000 miles under the belt, but what Japanese-built 4WD hasn’t? A quick Xterra forum search revealed that some owners were reporting up to 400,000 miles on the original motor. The Xterra is something of an unspoken value within the overlanding community, providing many of the same desirable traits as its Japanese counterparts at a fraction of the cost. It’s for these reasons that Motortrend wrote a dedicated piece on this platform titled: The First-Gen Nissan Xterra Is an Underappreciated Classic. It’s not often that these 4WDs are posted to our forum, but we have featured a couple of adventure-ready builds, including this 2003 and a 2015 Pro 4X. It’s also a favourite with the Expedition Portal team, with featured vehicle pieces on Xterras from Joel McGuirl and Austin. Finally, if you’d like a better idea of how these rigs can be outfitted for travel,  check out the drool-worthy offerings from Rogue Overland, Conheck Offroad, and All Things Overlanding.

From the Seller:

“This Xterra is a solid vehicle. It runs great and everything works. A clean interior and exterior, but not without imperfections. Air-conditioning blows cold and heat blows hot. Tires have plenty of life left in them. This is the 4WD model. Fresh battery installed within past month or so.”
