The 4Runner’s all-terrain performance is irrefutable, but that’s not the primary reason I love this vehicle. Instead, what makes this model so special is its everyday comfort, reliability, and practicality. In other words, yes, the 4Runner could take you round the world, but unlike many other cumbersome rigs, it’s also still a sensible family car that’s perfect for general life. Sure, it would be great to own both a daily runner and a dedicated overland rig, but that’s not financially feasible for many of us. The option to own a single do-it-all vehicle is a very attractive prospect, and one that’s already been overland kitted without compromising on daily usability is even more desirable; cue today’s 4Runner.

This 4Runner has taken me all over Utah on mountain biking trips and backcountry camping excursions with my family. We’re all Toyota 4WD enthusiasts, and between myself, my dad, and brothers, we’ve owned over a dozen Toyotas and explored Utah and the surrounding states together.
