Day Trip to Ellis Peak @ Tahoe, CA

Wanted to share some pics from weekends trip to Ellis Peak, located on the western side of Lake Tahoe, CA.

Probably one of the most scenic drives that Ive taken around the sierras. The view at the peak is unbelievable.

Total drive up took us few hours, got lost few times because of numerous splits in the trail. In the end it was all worth it.

Took a drive in my trusty ol' pal 1998 Mitsubishi Montero.

Getting my girl used to driving offroad, so I was behind the camera exept for when we got to the top ,the last climb was quite a challenge ( see pics vid/pics towards the end).

Got to the top, tried to go as much as I possibly could up the mouintain. Very steep hill here. Rear locker helped quite a bit.

Nice pictures! I'll definitely have to get up there soon! One question, how do you like your hankooks? I'm debating on a set....

Yeah, it s beautiful drive.

Would love to go there with few locals.

The Hankooks are pretty tough tires, I bought them at about 70% tread and beat the sh"" out of them. So far so good, never had patch them up, never lost any air.
Down side is that they are a bit noisy, which doesn't really bother me b/c i dont drive the truck daily. And I really like the size that my set comes it.
