Tailgate latch ideas

I am looking for some ideas for different tailgate configurations, maybe this thread could be a place to compile what others have used. I was looking to see if anyone has used JK hood latches as well.

I built a custom tailgate for my fiberglass replica military trailer, this photo is before painting:

For $3 at Harbor Freight, I could not pass these up for the main latch. Used cabinet locks to lock.

This is what my Manley ORV has. One nice thing about them is they are made such that you don't have to pull the latch out to shut the tailgate, you can just push it shut.
