Adventure Trailer wants me to be their Valentine

How do I know you ask? Because on the 13th of Feb. I came home from work to discover two big brown boxes full of AT love!

Yes they have to be one of the best Valentine's day gifts I've ever received. The weekend plans were looking good for me. I even managed to get time to assemble one of them on V-Day (How cool is that?).

I know this is the second thread regarding these drawers, so I'll try to keep mine light on the build details.

First and foremost; A big thank you to the AT guys. As usual, your customer service, attention to detail and your products are and remain to be Top Notch.

Try as FedEx tried (As evidenced by the brutalization of my shipping boxes, i.e. the cardboard being cut on both boxes, the corners being crushed and so on) the contents of the shipping boxes arrived unharmed and in perfect condition. Thanks for the great packing job AT!

Like I said, I won't go into the assembly process, but you can view "TheExile's" build thread here;

And Martyn's Thread here;

And so it's easy to find, here's a link to AT's site featuring the Drawer unit's;

http://www.adventuretrailers.com/drawer.html

I ordered two different sizes of drawers. One 36A (8.75" tall) and one 36B (12" tall). I did this in order to achieve storage below my ARB fridge and have a larger drawer to the side of my fridge. I will place my fridge on the 36A unit and hopefully with a fridge slide the height of both units will be even.

I also received a 36" set of the Versitrack lashing system. A very nice option.

Now for the pictures;

I placed the 36A unit on the passenger side. This is where my ARB Fridge will go to help balance the vehicle platform when I'm in the 80 alone.

The AT Drawer's feature full length drawer slides. A feature absent with the African Outback drawers.

I had a friend stop by that owns a set of the African Outback drawers (For a 100 series). He couldn't believe how much lighter these composite drawers were when compared to his AO drawers.

Hopefully in the near future, AT will be able to match the contour of the rear storage area for specific vehicles offer replacement "Tops" for the drawer boxes.

I'm pleased I opted to wait for these and I know I made the right decision. I believe they will be the perfect compliment to my Wagon Gear tailgate storage compartment.

Looks good.....I noticed in one of the pics that you are running Maxxis Bighorn's, How do you like them? I am thinking of getting a set in 305/70/17.

Thanks, I like them. If you search "Redline" he has written extensively on these tires. I let him talk me into these as I had always been a big BFG fan. As usual, he did not misguide me.

Good news...rumor has it that AT is in the process of making contour tops for the storage area of the 80. Maybe with some convincing Disco's will be next:)

Did you mount the boxes to the truck or are they loose? Most of the drawer systems I have seen have a frame that is bolted to the truck so that this stuff does not bounce around on the trail.

I love your avatar!

Thank you. They are hard mounted to the factory bolt holes where the third seat brackets were bolted to. I was able to get in on a group buy from ihmud on bolts just for this purpose.

I mentioned it earlier in my trailer build up thread but I cannot say enough good things about the AT guys as well. They are absolutely top notch, wonderful guys and wonderful products... :)

Jereme,

I've had my AO drawers and frame out a couple times in the last week...and another today at Slee's apart of finishing the aux tank project. I can tell you...although I don't have empirical data...your complete drawer package weighs about what just the AO frame assembly weighs!

Dan, those AO drawers must be burly. I knew I must have been a little off base by your expression when you picked up one of my box/drawer combo's.

The more I use the drawers the more I like them.
