New Member- Why arent FJ's listed as Expedition Vehicles?

Hi, my first post on here, but I'm wondering why haven't the FJ's been included on the Thread Topic area too? I and some others are in the process of finishing up our Expedition Built FJ's. I also just got the new issue of Overland today and see the equipment reviews, nice.

I also see there's a lot of good information on this site, I should have joined a long time ago, but between work and the (Blue Room) fjcruiserforums.com keep's me pretty busy. I'm one of the MOD's over there. Anyways, great site, I'm looking forward to checking out alot of the topics over here, I hope I can contribute here myself. :)

Nice FJC and welcome to the portal! I think I've checked out your build over on the fjcruiserforum. Are you the one that tested the aux tank for Man-it-ain't-Fre? I guess getting those built has become quite the soap opera. I think that the Tacos, 4Runners and FJC's get thrown together for being on a somewhat similar platform. The mods should at least throw in "FJC" to the thread topic. Regardless, it is good to see some FJ Cruisers over here.

The vehicle your thinking of belongs to Mark (mir207) he has been testing the Aux tank, I'm waiting on one too. I have an all Black TRD SE that is built up called the RAPTOR, you can click on my sig, and see the build.

Yeh, I see that, it would be nice to have the FJC's added, I kind of feel like an outcast :eek:

Agree w/ Sar Squid ... seems the format are pretty well laid out ... for instance, I have a F250 but I'm not looking for a F250 forum ... I just go to the American/Oversize forum (or whatever it's called).

Also, nice truck, lots of $$, but why black? I had a black truck once that I off-roaded ... yeah, regretted that ... back to silver ... scratches don't show.

Hi Mike, that's a very valid question. I think the thread sections were actually created prior to the release of the production FJ Cruiser, so there is obviously a hold-over from that point in time and it hasn't been changed. I'm on a trip at the moment, but when I return I'll see what I can do, as I think that the FJC is a popular enough platform to add it in the heading. As others have mentioned though, there are many other Toyota models that can still be posted here.

ExPo is a great place for the expedition-minded. The FJ Cruiser is definitely an expedition worthy vehicle. :26_7_2: We have quite a few represented here on the forum, 1leglance's being the first that comes to mind.
As BajaTaco mentioned, a lot of the categories are from "the old days" when we had just a few folks on board. Now we've grown pretty darned big (IMHO). It'll take a little while, but I'm sure the super-mods will be looking at the thread categories now and again....:peepwall:

Very nice rig. Do you in fact wheel or plan to wheel it? Not saying that as an insult; just wondered what your intentions are: build & show or build & go.

Maybe etc added or re-listed as Toyota to be PC.

I don't want to see a FJ only, Taco Only, etc. Mechanically they are nearly identical so a general Toyota Forum works fine and on mechanical upgrades it is usually valid across the line.

To many subcategories makes a mess out of things.

Actually its not.
It has more in common with a Tacoma then any of the LandCruiser line.

In the US LandCruiser only specifies one vehicle, the 200 series.

I believe the FJ Cruiser is a North American vehicle only at this time. Its not listed anywhere else that I can find.
Here is Toyota Australia as an example.

Add the FJ please! The FJcruiserforum has become clogged with stupidity to the point that I don't want to visit anymore. Nobody uses "search", and only a few people actually know anything about trucks. It would be nice to pull some of the useful people over here.
Also, it is filled with annoying pop up adds that really suck. Sorry for the rant, but it is so much better here!
