Even the undamaged ones (if there were any) now have a date with the crusher. Guaranteed. FCA won’t risk possible undetected damage that could be a potential safety issue.

Mazda was applauded for their decision on the Cougar Ace.

Just FYI. Don't get your hopes up that damaged Gladiators, Wranglers, etc. will be up on the market for sale. Insurance will settle all the damaged vehicles out with Chrysler/Jeep and then they'll all be scrapped. Most likely all the damaged railcars will be scrapped too if they can't be repaired. Look for some of the Jeeps to end up at SA Recycling Las Vegas for shredding. Worked for SA Recycling Southeast in Georgia after Newell Recycling was bought out. We'd scrap all sorts of prototype, test bed, experimental cars from the major OEMs plus the normal scrap cars. Some of the stuff that came across the scale would break your heart. Last big ticket one I remember seeing was a Porsche Panamera Turbo. It had an electrical issue that couldn't be solved. Porsche replaced it to their customer for free, no questions asked. The bad car was shredded intact. That's a $150,000 plus vehicle. Yikes!!

The "Launch Edition" was basically an optioned out Rubicon Gladiator with a little badge. People didn't even get them before some dealers got regular Gladiators.

It's a bummer to see these wrecked but they will make many, many more so not really a big loss.

So that launch edition badge just got more valuable.

One in 4190. But 800 were destroyed because a babnanna peel was left on a railroad track.
