Homebrewed "Lizard Skin" Rubber layer for the inner door/body skins and wheel wells.

Laid down real thick with a hopper gun. This is an imitation of the sound control coating that goes on first.

Bed Liner time. The cab is all enclosed and the rig is being built to handle full-time living.

The Duplicolor worked well:
Waterbased-Polyurethane. Voc content is ~130g/l IIRC, hardly reeks opening up the can.

Thin, watery, and clumpy even mixed. I wouldn't bother rolling this type.
But it sprayed great.

I managed to cover the whole lower of the rig with 2 quarts.

Used up the first quart from the seat mounts forward. Used the hopper gun to get that thicker traditional coating.
This is the only area that will see foot traffic/wear.

Poured the second quart into the 3mil gun. Far better coverage with this texture.

The bed system will sit over all of this with storage inside, so it doesn't need quite the thickness of an actual truck.

Finally got the hinges dialed in and fitted for a test cycle.

Uses the new custom pop top scissor hinges up front and a trimmed westfalia stock push bar in the back.

XJ Unibody Stiffening has begun.
Stitching everything in 1" increments, except for the full circle tie-in welds.
Alternating and taking time to keep the heat buildup down on the unibody rails.
