Haddix's FJ Build

Went to Red River Gorge/Slade,KY over 4th of July weekend to do some backcountry exploring. I went Saturday by myself and Sunday I went back with a buddy and his fj. I've lived in Kentucky my entire life and I'm still amazed with the views this place has to offer. Red river gorge *is about 45 minutes from my house and there is so much terrain to be explored.*The FJ performed great, it's like a little mountain goat. Just climbs with ease. I was almost in a mess Saturday by myself. I misjudged a mud hole and dropped the 2 front tires into it. One rear tire in the air and the other completely stuffed. I was stuck. A lot of throttle, cussing and toyota faith the fj finally dug deep and brought me out. Needless to say I'm very happy with the 4wd system and the atrac in the FJ. I counted my blessings and headed back towards home as it was getting dark and I didn't want to test my luck anymore. Onto some pictures!

Contemplating trading the FJ for an 07 Tacoma dcab trd. The Tacoma has 33" KM2's and full old man emu lift.
Help me make the right decision!

I've also tinkered swapping the FJ for a DC Taco.

The things that have stopped me from doing it are the rumored Tacoma Refresh and the fact that manufacturers are starting to rollout diesel motors again. I dont want to get into something just yet with new options (that I probably will want) are on the near horizon ;)

The FJ is paid off and id be trading title for title for the Tacoma so it would also be paid off.

This is probably not the answer you were looking for but I'd want both! The thing is, you're always going to want what you don't or can't have. I love the FJ. I get excited when I see them on the road, especially the modified ones, which is not often. The Tacomas are awesome trucks, and if I had both, I'd probably use it more for my DD. Although, my pooch loves riding in the bed of my step-dad's chevy pick-up more than he does in my rig. But for me there's just something about the FJ that is different. I know this is all superficial ranting but it's my .02.

putting in a periscope? :wings:
Sorry, I'll always remember the time I pulled up to a stop light in my 3rd gen 4runner and some girl asked me why I had a "periscope" on it?
