I'm wanting to either find a 4x4 bus, or convert one myself. When looking for a donor vehicle, am I better looking for a dually or standard?

The single rear wheel short school buses are very small and they have the shorter roofs.

If you have the skills to do the work look for an e450 with the 6'1 to 6'3" roof and put your axles under it.

Maybe he is asking too much? Dunno.

Central Illinois, very complete, but a bit pricy.
Honestly.... that's not THAT overpriced. Seems to be in really good condition, has lots of recent mechanical/maintenance work. At the end of the day, it's a vehicle from 1988, so there's always going to be some work to be done it. But you'd be getting a pretty solid vehicle with a lot of useful features and those are pricey these days.

Interesting service box on a cutaway, you can even crawl into the cab...? I wonder what this was used for. The pass. side flip up doors would make a great kitchen.
