A little Tiger montage from last weeks adventure:
Ophir Pass, Colorado
Unique Jeep collection in Saguache, Colorado
109 degree campsite in Chaco Canyon, NM............and, damn hot in the shade aswell!
The internationally famous "blue house" 5 miles outside Chaco Canyon National Park, on reservation land and the only damn place you can get cell service.......per the Park Ranger.
And somehow, someone thought this was a good idea...........until the morning.

So the Tiger got it's legs stretched this weekend as we headed down south outside Silverton to Stony Pass to do a re-supply for our cool neighbors (70 years old!) hiking the Colorado Trail! We spent most of Thursday getting too and climbing to the pass and setting up our supply station. After an awesome night and a brief morning our friends came into the pass and we re-supplied them and some additional thru hikers.
afterwards we headed down the pass and took our time heading home with a couple of wonderful high alpine campsites..........and, a beer and cigar at an old miners camp with a view!

Paul, that was so cool and nice of you to do that. Back in late 90's we lived in North Georgia not far for terminus of AT. When our first was toddler we used to go to parking pull-off where AT crossed road and be trail angels for people coming off the mountain. Although we weren't hiking it was great helping and talking to the hikers, especially the thru hikers. Thru hiking AT at retirement was once a dream, now I just want to drive around and fish

This couple is amazing. They've lived their entire lives in the mountains here outside Nederland, Co. They're not only celebrating turning 70 with this hike but, also their 50th wedding anniversary. They were some of the very first people/friends we met when we moved here. Bill is hilarious......his sense of humor was to invite me to go on a short "wheeling" trip with a short "hike"..........after several hours crawling over boulders to a glacial mountain lake we take a short "hike" to the continental divide to over look RMNP...........all in a days walk for these two and not something a retiree from Kansas City was prepared for!
As for the others we supplied, it was incredibly interesting to talk with them too hear their stories and reasons for taking on the 500 mile hike.
This is about a mile in on the CT from the Pass........they had done over 400 miles by the time they got to the re-supply.

One of the additional benefits of a 19 foot Tiger is once your done goofing off in the mountains you can drop down into a tourist town like Crested Butte and park on Main street for a beverage!
Love seeing the cool rigs that roam around Crested Butte!
Our last campsite before heading home was in the Lakeview NFS CG next to the Tin Cup Rec Area.

200K Review (pending):
By the end of this year, due to attending several OE Events and regional trips, the ATC Tiger will turn over 200 thousand miles and be over 26 years old! I hope to write-up a review of our experience traveling with a senior high mileage adventure rig. I was also curious others experiences owning and traveling with older and experienced rigs? Please share your stories!

Well, its back to work for the Tiger! Spent the last several days prepping and cleaning the Tiger and loading the trailer for Overland Expo Mountain West 2021 in Loveland, Colorado! It really works out nice that the 19ft Tiger fits in a 20 ft Vendors booth so we don't have to leave each night and can enjoy the evening festivities. If your attending, please swing by the ATC booth to say "hi". Cheers.
I don’t remember if you did anything to the original hitch. The hitch on my tiger is a hot garbage home brew thing Provan made and it bent with a 200 pound Honda trail 110 on it. Have you had any trouble with yours towing that trailer?

LOL.........you know your a real Tiger owner when you comment on the hitch/rear frame extension and it's craptastic factory welding! I never posted about it but, when I was installing the suspension lift. My friend (the mechanic) had a professional welder friend doing some frame work for him and we asked him to inspect the Tiger hitch..........while he commented it looked like a drunk child did the welding he didn't have a problem with it. Although he did dress-up a couple of the buzzbox welds with his mig. In the end I haven't had any issues. This trailer with inventory is heavy and probably hit the scales around + 2500k the trailer is rated at 3500k. Cheers.

Tiger is always a excellent basecamp at our booth at the Overland Expo events. Always nice to have our mobile condo on site at these great events. The only craziness was the prairie wind storm that came through and damaged a number of tents and vehicles.....looking forward to O/E West in Flagstaff!

When we race Formula Fords out in the desert, the only way to keep those shades from blowing away is that one side gets strapped to the car hauler and all the other posts get ratchet-strapped to full fuel jugs or a stack of spare tires. Even then, it's occasionally dicey.

LOL......that's experience talking. Yeah, I've created a redundant tie-down system (that includes these clown sand bags) that's saved our b@#$ during wind/rain storms.
There was a very unfortunate incident where a tent took off and punctured the hood on a brand new Mercedes Sprint van camper.......ouch.

Yeah, one of the orgs we've run with also has closed-wheel classes and we've seen EZ-ups do real damage to deep six-figure carbon-bodied touring cars. FFs are positively cheap in comparison.
